Handy Tips on Effective SEO Content Writing

By John Allen November 1, 2022 No Comments

If you have a flair for writing, then you can consider content writing on the internet as a viable profession. With people using the internet as a global market to buy and sell almost everything, companies and entrepreneurs are naturally eager to promote their business websites whichever way they can.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one such popular strategy employed by sellers to direct more traffic to their websites in the hope of generating sales. SEO involves posting high quality relevant articles on the internet with appropriate keywords which induces the readers to visit the actual website and herein lies the increasing importance of quality content and content writers.

Content writing specifically for the purpose of SEO is however easier said than done. Just any article does not qualify to be apt for SEO and there are certain approaches and points to keep in mind if you aim to become a successful content writer expert in SEO oriented articles.

Use Titles and Keywords Judiciously

The correct title can make all the difference between the popularity and obscurity of an article. Catchy headlines incorporating the essence of the article is likely to grab the attention of readers faster than vague titles.

For example, if your article on raincoat is titled ‘monsoon paraphernalia’, people looking for raincoats are likely to avoid your article simply because the title is misleading and ambiguous. Use keywords contextually in your content.

Strategically placed keywords serve as an essential link between the writer and his readers and play a vital part in influencing page rankings (PRs) of articles in search engines. Keywords are phrases which people enter into the search boxes when looking for a particular item so the appropriate keywords are likely to push your article to the top PRs for better visibility.

If the success of content lies in the number of its readers, then the correct keyword placed at proper positions definitely influences its performance.

Make Your Content Informative and Interesting

While framing your content keep in mind that whatever article you are writing, it is for the client and his business. Surfers who come across your article, read and like it, are likely to visit your website by following the links embedded in the article.

Your writing should, therefore, exude the confidence of a seasoned businessman, knowledgeable in his line of trade. Research thoroughly about the product and incorporate latest data from reliable sources. However, the language should not be too pedantic.

Make the article informative and interesting without being a blatant sales pitch. It should be compelling enough to hold the attention of its readers and encourage them to

Keep the Language Crisp and Clear

Online articles are not novels. People read an article for information and guidance on the products and services they are scouring for while companies hope that the articles would draw more viewers to their websites.

Therefore, when writing for SEO, confusing elaborate language is best avoided. Keep the article crisp, clear and concise as readers too often get weary of long essays. However check for grammar and spelling as a shoddily written article reflects poorly on the brand it is promoting indirectly.
